A few members of RVCC flew to DC at the beginning of the month and visited with agency officials, legislative staff, and various partners over the course of three days. We shared two documents with everyone: a two-pager outlining our top priorities for 2016, and a table of our appropriations requests for the upcoming fiscal year. These documents will guide our work, including issue paper development, over the next year. Our top priorities for 2016 are increasing rural community capacity, enabling implementation of collaborative agreements, working across landscapes, and fostering fire adapted communities and landscapes.
